Is the world really that round?

"You look familiar..." A guy that walk passed me said
"Do i know you?" I wondered.
It turn out to be a friend who was from Jurong Junior College. when i studied there years ago. To be honest i didn't remember him as it was years back (don't i sound old...). However after doing a little catch up with him, a some memories came back, he was my classmate and the chemisty person-in-charge. To make the story short, we soon exchange contacts to keep in touch. Apparently we were in good terms back then and I kinda helped him abit before i made a sudden decision to switch to Polytechnic.

A few more words of exchange i realise that his the head of events for the entrepreneurship club in SIM, which is exactly what my friends and i need, a place to sell our roses and fondue for Valentine's day.

Suddenly a question struck me, Is it True that what goes around comes around? Or my friends would put it 'retribution' or 'karma'.

Isn't it mind blogging to know the The Bible preaches on 'Do what you want others to do unto you', Buddhist touch on 're-carnation', Catholic and other religions emphasize that by doing good deeds will indirectly bless the you.. so on and so forth. Yet who can vouch that all these teachings are real?

A minutes from playing with my cats and packet of hokkien mee later, instead of pondering alone about this question, i decided to ask a few friends of mine in hope to find some 'enlightenment'. It appears that many of them believe in that theory despite recalling any such incidents happening on their personal lives. Maybe the word 'Faith' fits in to their thinking, that if they continue to do good, good things will happen back to them someday. Kinda reminds me of a saying someone once told me - "Faith is believing in what you cannot see". How true is that.

But I can't help but wonder, what about the bad things that people do to others? Backstabbing, stealing, hurting others etc... the same rule applies? Or will it travel faster? Will the chain be broken in any point of time if one person stands up with a different point of view?

Well, from a personal perspective, unconsciously as humans being, we want to feel that glimpse of hope that life can be great, a little bit of faith can go a long way. That by helping others, we can make others feel good about themselves and at the same time accumulate abit more good deeds into our "life account". Sort of sees it like a bank account, you know good deeds are credit and bad deeds are debits.

Better more than less in this sense is my way of thinking, I guess it doesnt hurt to lend a helping hand once in awhile.. does it? =)
