What defines Success?

Had a long training session with the girls on Sunday. The competition is this Friday evening. It's been 3 years since I've been incharged of a pattern team. Time really fly. Past 2 years we only manage to attain a bronze. This year i'm aimming for a Gold.

In the mean time my boyfriend, was at visiting Mr Nicholas Chia at his home. Of course no opportunity was wasted he was bombered by many question in regards to his. Just abit of background, Mr Nicholas Chia is one of the most well respected person i know. Apart from the fact his wealthy, and i must add the word 'extremely'. Let's just put it this way, his son wants to study medicial overseas. Every year the fees will cost $100,000 and to complete the course it will take 5 years. That will be just the degree alone will cost half a million! But his reasoning was, 'To me, part of success is to be able to give my children a future, for them to have the freedom to do what they want to do in life'

Many people have different dream in regards to what they want out of life. But how many of us are able to fulfill that? What is sucess in our defination? Is is always money? Many of us are blinded by the illusion that money is the most important thing in our life, but have we forgotten that it's just paper? It's what money can bring us that we all are really persuing.

What hit me was Nr Nicholas Chia's daughter is far from a spolit brat. She's smart and at the age of 6 she already has the rope of business and respect others. This is taught by none other that her father. In the future she will be a great business women.

So what is sucess? I think it boils down of what are you earning for? You say it's for a future, yet what kind of future are you looking at? To have a big house but only ou living in it? A sports car but only you can sit in? Somehow or another i conclude that all these things are for people to see, to impress but deep inside we may not be searching for that.

For me and my boyfriend, we just want a future where we can do what we want. He wants to be a speaker, i want to have good life of carefree without money worries. We both want a future where we can give our children their future and travel the world to see and expereience this earth.
